In a sustainably renovated building that dates to 1898, El Moore Lodge is an 11-room accommodation that features historic features blended with eco amenities (geothermal heating and reclaimed subway tile, anyone?). It’s ideal location – tucked near the delightfully walkable Cass Corridor – is great for families with children and teens, and also conveniently located near some of the area’s popular venues, like Little Caesar’s Arena, Comerica Park and Ford Field.
While the property doesn’t offer rollaway beds or cribs, it does have two rooftop suites – the Starlight and Twilight Cabins – that overlook Detroit and offer a king size bed and pull-out sofa. A balcony, small kitchenette and bath with shower complete the room. But best for families is the open garden nestled next to the lodge. It’s perfect for running around (look for the fairy door in the water tower gate!) and bumps up against a cozy cafe and market with bistro seating.
