Family travel doesn’t have to be far away, expensive or a week long. These tiny cabin resorts are conveniently located to major metro areas and offer a little slice of paradise that’s perfect for parents with one or two kiddos. (Or some one-on-one bonding with one parent and a child, given the cabin’s small footprint.) Inside, you’ll find a huge window that looks out onto nature, positioned over a fluffy queen bed or queen bunk set up. A small table, kitchenette and private bathroom with shower. Note, however, that hot water only lasts for about five minutes and you’ll need 30 minutes in between showers for it to reheat. Plan accordingly!
Every cabin comes with a firepit and grilling grate, Adirondack chairs (two for one queen, and four for queen bunks, as well as a picnic table. Rates vary, but you’ll find weekday pricing has a clear advantage! Explore the area around your campsite, hike a nature trail or curl up inside the cozy cabin with a stack of library books. These tiny retreats are big on adventure and we’ve found that littles agree.
